Bathroom demo

Bathroom is going away.

This closet in the bathroom had bifold doors they are going to keep it open and just have nice shelves.

ahh and the focal point of the bathroom, the lights.

The contractor is going to shore up behind the toilet.

by the way, cast iron drain pipe.  

Paint/ texture

the texture guys were here yesterday, and today the painters came.

The left color is the original house color

the center color is the color we painted

the right is the color the whole house is.  

It actually looks like gray in the shade, and a warm off white in the sun, 

so it feels like more than 1 color was used on the house.

Here is a shot of the texture they sprayed on.

Floor guy got the stain on and put 1 coat of sealer on the floor.  

He will come back after all other work is done to fix any problems 

and put 2 more coats of sealant on the floor.

I really like the color.

There were some problems that I noticed that I saw before the floors got covered.

The hallway looks weird, darker on edges than where you walk.

The living room closet looks blotchy

and there were at least 2 spots with white marks?

This is the stain color we chose.

They are applying the stain now and will be back in the morning to seal it.

Hardwood Floors both large bedrooms

This is the large bedroom I was worried about.

It is like maybe a waterbed broke or something.

Looks tons better after sanding.

Problem is this area.  

I was not worried about the other large bedroom.

Matter of fact the floor guy said this was his favorite room in the whole house to work with.

remember this mess in the small bedroom.  

When we walked on it the boards are cupped in spots.

after first sanding, floor guy said still too soon to make judgement.

But he is optimistic.

The cupped effect is practically gone.

 Still needs final fine grit sanding, and staining.

looks a lot better now.

The drywaller was here for 1 day and 1 hour 

Now the hardwood floor guy is here and nobody can walk on the floor for a couple of days.

The drywaller will be back to fix things such as the spot were the light was.
