Getting close

Almost got out of town before the holiday weekend,
but we were trying to rush too much into a short window of time so I decided to wait a week.
Probably good not to drive on a holiday weekend anyway.
Floor guy was here working on the floors.
I pressed my face to the window today, looking good from here!

Bailey does not like the flooring guy, his sander is noisy.
But she has her safe spot on the brake she likes to sit when he is here.

Some small touch up stuff and the cleaners this weekend plus the gardener will be here.
Then we will be ready to list.
We are signing the contract on Tuesday, and listing on Wednesday.

RV parking

Years ago when we purchased this house our priority was good school district and RV parking.
In Bellevue there is a rule, if you want to park your RV at home,
you must park to the side or the rear of your home.
There are no alleys in town for access to back yard.

Most houses the building is too close to the property line to fit a small car let alone a RV.

The bush helps me to not hit the edge of the roof when parking.
We actually  put a gravel driveway in and the grass has popped up thru the gravel.

Basketball Hoop

Finished the Basketball hoop

This what it looked like when I arrived.

I pressure washed it, but it still had issues.
The post had some rust, and the metal hoop was faded

so I rattle can painted both
and put a new net on the hoop.

Tile backsplash

Glass tile backsplash is going in.

Unfortunately he ran out of tiles.
The tile has been discontinued, so he had to special order more.

Supposedly it will be here tomorrow.

The backsplash looks better live than in these photos.

Floors

The floor guy is going to be here tomorrow to fix the floors and put the last 2 coats of finish on them.

I feel for him, he is coming back to.
There is wall paint on the floor
yet the contractor went ahead and put trim in and the painters painted the trim.

Also even though it was 2 days longer than the floor guy said for drying
the one bedroom was still tacky and the paper stuck to the finish.

Backsplash in progress

He started putting the backsplash in.

Plumber is done

He came back to put a new faucet on the front outside the house.

It was hard to remove, and the pipe needed to be repaired
So he had to cut a hole in the sheet rock in one of the bedrooms.

He also finished hooking up the dishwasher.

Tile Backsplash

Finally chose the tile backsplash

He plans to start installing it today

Electrician is done : )

We had him put under cabinet lighting in.
I really like how it turned out.

He just put a little light like this under each cabinet.
Each has it's own switch plus there is a main switch on the wall next to the sink to turn them all on/off.

We also decided to put flush mount canned lights in the ceiling of the kitchen.
It is only 3 lights but makes a world of difference.

In the dining room we have a nice small light.

appliances are here

The appliances are GE brand.

The dishwasher is under window.
I would have loved to have all that counter space when I lived here!

We decided to put a built in microwave above the stove.
Also originally we had an electric stove.
There was a gas line behind the stove so we decided to put in a gas range.

The blue tint is just plastic protecting the finish of the stainless steel.

I did not realize the fridge would be so small in the space.

electrical and plumbing

Electrician was here.
turned out the kitchen was ALL on the same circuit, fridge, microwave, dishwasher garbage disposal, lights.  anyhow you get the idea.
So... he needs to do alot more work than originally planned.
This is what it looked like after the first day.
He came back tonight to finish up.

The plumber came and put all the fixtures in,
then found that the bathroom sink was backing up into the tub,
so tomorrow Roto Rooter is coming.
But on the bright side I like the new faucet.

Shed

Shed is looking a bit worn.

I pressure washed the shed, but there still is a lot of rust.

So I painted it with rattle can rustoleum paint

I also had someone move the farm gate to behind the shed.

inside there was a hole in the floor so I put 1/2 inch plywood over the whole floor.

Tub/ crawlspace

Hard to see in this shot.
No lights in the bathroom.
They came and re-surfaced part of the tub.
They noticed in the bottom it was coming apart.
Years ago the tub split, and we hired someone to resurface the tub fix the split, and put a hardening foam under the tub.   They did a bad job.
The tub guy peeled the fiberglass piece up in one chunk.
He said on the bright side since the previous person did such a crappy job it will make it easier for him to remove all the old so he can use the proper materials.
He said the old fix was the right idea, but all the wrong products.
He did all of the tub except the bottom. The part he did looks great!  like new.
He will be spending the whole day here fixing the rest next Friday.

I was in the crawlspace today removing an extension cord that was stapled to the floor joists.

I noticed something weird in the area of the tub.
It was foam.  It is like Styrofoam, and really soft.  I can see why it was not the correct stuff to use to support the bottom of the tub.

The contractor is going to trim it out.

got a nice slider with the blinds between the panes of glass.

A large amount of interior doors and trim was installed today.

counters are installed

Things are coming together.
Counters have been installed.

This will be the counter in the bathroom.

counters have arrived

counters are all ready to be cut to the proper size.

here is the color

tub

Ok, years ago we had a problem with the tub splitting.
we had hired a guy thru our rental management company to fix it
by putting foam under the tub and re fiber glassing the bottom of the tub.
Evidently he did the right idea with the improper parts.
foam under the tub was supposed to be rigid, the foam used was like you use in the walls.
The guys have enough of a hole for me to see how the foam springs back when pushed on.

They are going to fix it properly $$ and time
He did say fortunately they did such a crappy job
that the fiberglass piece that was added in the tub came up easily.
It could have been worse.

cabinet installer

cabinet installer was here

Today the tub guy is here to make the tub look new again
and this afternoon the counter guys will be here to install the quartz counters.
